Shibuya Tokyu REI Hotel is about a two-minute walk from Shibuya Station, making it a very convenient base for exploring Tokyo.
Hotels around Shibuya Station can get expensive, and when I stayed, the price here felt relatively reasonable for Shibuya.
I stayed in both a Family Twin and a standard Twin on separate visits, so this review covers the rooms, check-in, bathroom, train noise, hotel facilities, breakfast, and surrounding area from firsthand experience.
If you care more about being close to everything in Shibuya than having a spacious hotel room, this is an option worth considering.
How to Get to Shibuya Tokyu REI Hotel from Shibuya Station
Shibuya Station is large, so knowing which exit to use makes the walk much easier.
The hotel is on the Miyamasuzaka side of Shibuya Station.
If you are arriving via the subway or Tokyu lines, Exit B2 is the closest exit to the hotel.
If you are using JR, head for the Miyamasuzaka Exit.
What If You Come Out at Hachiko Exit?
If you accidentally come out at the Hachiko Exit near Shibuya Scramble Crossing, you can still reach the hotel without going back into the station.
Walk under the railway tracks toward the opposite side of the station.
The hotel is next to Bic Camera Shibuya East, so Bic Camera is a useful landmark when you are looking for the entrance.
Checking In at Shibuya Tokyu REI Hotel
The entrance is next to Bic Camera on Meiji-dori.
The entrance can be easy to miss, and I almost walked straight past it.
I remember thinking, “Is this still Bic Camera? Maybe the hotel is a little farther ahead,” and then realizing the entrance was right there.
Self Check-In Is Available in English
The hotel had self check-in machines that supported several languages, including Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean .
I used one of the machines myself, and the process was surprisingly straightforward.
After following the instructions on the screen and entering the required information, the machine issued my room key card.
There were also staff members at the front desk if I needed help.
Amenities were available beside the front desk, so it was convenient to pick up what I needed when checking in.
My Family Twin Room: Compact but Functional
Shibuya Tokyu REI Hotel has several room types, and I stayed in a Family Twin on this visit.
My first reaction when I entered the room was simple: it felt small.
The Family Twin is 16.2 m², and more than half of the room felt occupied by the beds.
The room had one double bed and one single bed, so there was naturally not much spare floor space.
The most useful way I can describe the size is with luggage.
I could open a suitcase in the walkway, but once it was open, there was almost no room left to walk past it.
For a stay where you mainly need somewhere to sleep, however, I did not find the size to be a serious problem.
The room also had some nice visual touches, including artwork inspired by Shibuya on the wall and soft indirect lighting, giving it a distinctly urban feel.
Family Twin vs. Standard Twin: Which Did I Prefer?
I also stayed in a standard Twin Room on a separate occasion, which gave me a useful point of comparison.
The standard Twin was also 16.2 m².

You might expect the room with the smaller beds to feel noticeably more spacious, but that was not really my impression.
Because the in-room facilities were the same, I personally preferred the Family Twin for its larger bed arrangement.
Room Amenities and Wi-Fi
Although the room was compact, it still had a sofa, desk, and the main facilities I needed during the stay.
The room included:

Despite the small room size, the basic in-room amenities were well covered.
Because I was traveling with my child, we were also given a cute set of children's amenities.
My child was happy with them, and as a parent, I appreciated the extra touch.
The Wi-Fi was stable throughout my stay and did not cut out.
I also did not notice any particular problem with the speed.
The Bathroom: Small and Dated, but Clean
The bathroom had the bathtub, toilet, and sink all together in one compact space.
It felt tightly packed and somewhat dated, but it had been cleaned well and was very clean during my stay.
There was also a bathtub rather than only a shower, which I appreciated.
The bathtub itself is fairly small, so some travelers may find it cramped.
Was the Train Noise a Problem?

Looking out of the window and seeing several sets of tracks below, I expected the trains to be quite noisy.
In reality, I could hear the trains, but the sound was not particularly loud and it barely bothered me during my stay.
ADVICE ADDED
That is only my experience from one 10th-floor, track-facing room, so I would not assume every room will sound exactly the same.
There was also a sliding panel inside the window, in front of the curtain.
It helped block outside light, and it may also have reduced some of the noise, although I cannot say for certain that it was designed for soundproofing.

Laundry, Microwave and Other Hotel Facilities
The hotel also had coin-operated laundry facilities, a microwave, and vending machines.
These facilities were located on the fifth floor.
The laundry area had two washing machines, two dryers, and one combined washer-dryer.
Detergent was not automatically dispensed by the machines when I stayed, but it could be purchased at the front desk.
When I travel with my child, having access to a washing machine is something I pay quite a lot of attention to.
For family trips in particular, being able to do laundry at the hotel can be genuinely useful.
Breakfast at Shibuya Tokyu REI Hotel
I did not eat breakfast at the hotel during this stay, so I cannot give a firsthand review of the food itself.
The breakfast was a buffet with Japanese and Western-style options.
Omelets appeared to be made to order by a chef, and the buffet also included items such as hamburgers.
Breakfast was ¥2,800 per adult when I stayed.
It looked good, but Shibuya has plenty of cafés and restaurants, so we decided to have breakfast somewhere else.
The Best Part: Exploring Shibuya on Foot
MIYASHITA PARK For me, this was where the hotel really made sense.
Being right by Shibuya Station meant I had no trouble finding places to eat, shop, or pick up everyday essentials nearby.
There was a convenience store next to the hotel, as well as ramen and soba restaurants that stayed open late.
Behind the hotel is Nonbei Yokocho, a narrow alley lined with small izakaya.
More importantly for sightseeing, SHIBUYA SKY, Shibuya Hikarie, and MIYASHITA PARK were all within walking distance.
My room was certainly small, but with so much to do around the hotel, I ended up using it mainly as somewhere to return to and sleep after spending the day out in Shibuya.
That experience changed the way I thought about choosing a hotel in this part of Tokyo: sometimes location can matter more than having extra space in the room.

Final Thoughts: Who Is Shibuya Tokyu REI Hotel Best For?
After staying here, my main takeaway was straightforward.
Shibuya Tokyu REI Hotel makes the most sense for travelers who value location more than having a spacious room.
Being only a short walk from Shibuya Station and within walking distance of several major Shibuya attractions made sightseeing extremely convenient for me.
The hotel also has larger rooms and room types other than the Twins I stayed in, so it is worth checking the available options to see which one suits your trip best.
